Raleigh, Mar. 10.—The house ft. liancj committee by a vote of 8 to 7 tonight eliminated the provision for excess profit tax on public serv ice corporations. The section was estimated to raise $600,000. With other eliminations from the budget bureau's revenue bill, the committee has cut out a to. tal of $1,000,000 from that which the budget bureau expected to raise, the supporters of the section said. The section, which v--..s recom mended by the tax commission, pro vided by a 15 percent tax on all public service corporations, on their earnings of over 10 per cent on their assessed valuation. The committee on oral vote ruled down a motion to repeal the present exemption of for eign stocks from taxation.
