Miss Annie Ellen Dye and Mr. Samuel Andrew Grigg were quietly married on Wednesday afternoon, March 25. at the home of the groom's pastor, Rev. H. E. Waldrop, with Rev. L. L. Jessup officiating. The bride Is the attractive daugh ter of Mr, and Mrs. T. T. Dye, of near Kings Mountain. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grigg, of near ^Shelby. Hie young couple will make their home with the bride's parents. Second Division Has Good Meeting. Yesterday afternoon at the club room Mrs. J. R. Robinson, Mrs. D. D. Pou and Miss Elisabeth Ebeltoft were gracious hostesses at a regu lar meeting of the second afternoon division ^of the Woman’s club. The subject; for the aft*ruoon’fc study was •'England” and Mrs. 6. R. Webb was leader. The program was open ed with a vocal solo by Miss Eliza beth Blanton who was accompanied by Miss Sara Thompson. Three at tractive papers were read, one on “Cathedral Towns,” by Mrs. Shovine Beam; one on “Castle and Country Houses,” by Mrs. W. H. Blanton; and a third on "The English Coun tryside and Its People," by Mrs. D. H. Cline. Interspersed with the lit erary program were two humorous readings given by Miss Ada Ham.ioy Wall, and a piano solo played by Miss Ethel Alexander. At the close of the program a so cial half hour was enjoyed during which the hostesses served an Ice with sandwiches and colorful can dles. The little daughter of Mrs. Robinson, in an exquisite, flower like dress of yellow silk, assisted In serving, Mm. Klmore Entertains At Birthday Party. On lust Wednesday afternoon Mrs.' John Elmore entertained a group of the little friends of Memory Hicks Freeman. Jr., in celebration of his first birthday. After games were played the tit tle guests were seated around an attractive miniature table, on which the little cake with one bright can dle burning was placed.
