Thirty Thousand At j Rhododendron Show Babv Parade, Terrapin Derbr And Outboard Motor Races To Feature Program. Asheville, June 25.—Festivity pre vailed today among the thousands here to pay tribute to the rhododen dron, a mountain flower that blooms with rare beauty in Western North Carolina. Sponsors of the event said at tendance was the largest in the four years' history of the annual rhodo dendron festival. They estimated that 30,000 persons witnessed the large parade which yesterday open ed the three-day fete._ A baby parade and outboard mo tor boat races at Beaver Lake were the features of today's program. The annual rhododendron ball, a gala event, will be held tonight. The festival pageant, scheduled for last night, was postponed be cause of rain. It maybe held to night. A terrapin derby, a street carni val and the sponsors ball will take plaoe tomorrow, the. closing day of the festival.
