I Division Of Chib No. 1 division of the Womans club held their regular meeting at the club room Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock with Mesdames Grif fin Smith, Coleman Doggett, and Chas, Wells joint hostesses. The club room was arranged with Christinas decorations and a very interesting program was enjoyed on the ‘ Ballad Part of Folk Lore Songs ” Papers were read by Mrs. W. B. Nix and Mrs. Fowler, who also sang ‘'Billy Boy" a song ap propriate to her reading. Miss Har dline Webb played ay piano selec tion and Miss Margaret Louis Mc Neelj gave a humorous reading. After the program the hostess, Mrs. Doggett, served a salad course with accessories to the club mem bers: Miss Rodina Pearl, Miss Lu cille Mulholland. Miss Ethel Elmore * delrgmfully entertained her music pupils* with a Christmas party Wednesday aft ernoon at 4 o’clock at her music ' studio at the Central high school building. Miss Elmore read a Christmas story about a number of compositions, and each pupils gavcs a musical quotation before* playing the piece appropriate to the read ing. Miss Nancy Lineberger gave a solo dance, the program was closed with an arrangement of Christmas carols sung by the class. Miss El more then invited them to her apartment on N. Washington street where they were engaged in a con test. Miss Elisabeth Carver winning the prize, a box of candy. Ice cream, cake, sandwiches and candy were served emphasizing the Christmas suggestions* of the decorations. The pupils taking part on the program were: Misses Mary Ward Loy, Mar garet Corbett. Mary MeLatty and Bobby Elmore. Green - Brooks Wedding Announced Of interest is the wedding ol Miss Eliza Brooks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Brooks, and Charles Olln Green. Wednesday afternoon De cember 9th at 5:00 o’clock. The ceremony was performed at the country home of the bride's parents with their pastor Rev. j, W. Buttle officiating The wedding vows were spoken in the reception hall before a back ground of palms, vines, terns and blooming flowers. Acting as brides maids were Misses Beatrice Blanton and Reba Moore, both wore after noon dresses of black crepe. Groomsmen were Messrs Rcburn Washburn. Dufaye Bridges and John h. McSwain. The matron of honor Mrs. Dufaye Bridges was very lovely in an afternoon gown of black and green flat crepe with ac cessories. The bride and groom entered the reception hall together She wore a lovply gown ol concorde blue flat crepe, with accessories to match. The only ornament was a beautiful strand of crystal beads. The bride's bouquet was a shower of talisman roses and fern The bride is a graduate of the Lattimore high school class of '27. and is a very popular and attrac I , I tive young lady.
