Atkinson whose marriage to Mr.
William Franklin Fox will take
place on June 17. The table was
centered with a bowl of mixed
spring llowers. A thue course din
ner was served.

Seventh Grade
Has Party.
Members of the seventh grade of
the Graham school had their annual
party on Friday evening at the
home of Mrs. C. A Morgan on W
Marion street. Mrs J L. Lackey,
grade mother, and Mrs. Charlo.
Washburn were assisting hostesses
and Mrs. Harry Hudson, teacher of
the class, was also i iesent, as was
little Fannie Mae Hudson, class
mascot. Progressive dates furnished
the evening’s entertainment An
outstanding feature cf the evening
was the presentation of gifts to
Mrs. Hudson, Mrs. Lackey and Fan
nip Mae Hudson. Thi presentations
were graciously made by Jane
Washburn in behalf of the class.
Mrs. Hudson war. given a pretty
coffee tatle, Mrs. l ackey a vanity
and the little mascot an attractive
sliver bracelet. Mrs Hudson pre
sented members of the class with
their certificates of promotion.
Ice cream, cake end punch were
served.

The Broad River baseball team
met Earl on No. 3 grounds Satur
day afternoon at 3 o'clock and play
ed a very interesting game at base
ball. The score was 8 to 5 In favor
of Earl. Although the Broad River
team has not had wry much prae
tlce, they are showing much skill
and improvement hi their playing.
Mrs. J. H. Hawkins has been con
fined to her bed for the past sev
eral days with high blood pressure,
is able to be up igaiti. Mr Wil
burn Putnam and >vr daughters of
Lattlmore returned home one day
last week after .needing several
days at her bedside
