Duubel Shoals, Oct. 20.—The
i streams here rose rapidly late Sun
day afternoon until the water mark
was the highest In several years.
The big 18 inch belt on the
drive of the Double Shoals Manu
facturing company mill had to be
cut and removed. The water cover
[ ed everything at the wheel house
except the electric part which Was
I up a story higher. The mill was un
j able to run the first three days of
the w^cck on account of the repau
work.

owned by a group of farmers was in
danger Of heavy losses hud the wa
ter continued to rise Around 100
bales of cotton were In danger of
being washed away and had to be
moved Sunday night, in a down pour
of ram. Some of the farmers suf
fered a loss on the streams, many
acres of corn being damaged by wa
ter and mud.
