the State Utilities commission has

rate investigation.

of an expert were essential before
and during the first telephone ex
change rate here on June 5.
The 1933 legislature made avail
able $10,000 for rate Investigations,

$35,000 a year might be used with
Ifie authority and council of state.
To date only a small portion of the
$10,000 fund has been used In prep
aration of data on telephone, elec
tric power and gas companies, now
available. No amount was fixed—
that being open until plans are
completed for the general Investi
gation.

was Smith's second offense, Judge
J. R. Patton, Jr., declared: "I have
no mercy for such a man, and while
