Shelton, an account executive with Merrill Lynch of Sayan nan, l:a., will speak. i>he holds a doctorate in history from the University of Virginia and was an instructor at Virginia i'olyteehnical Institute for five years before taking her present position with Merrill I.ynch. Topics will range from everyday budgeting to specifics on investment opportunities. Women living alone are especially encouraged to attend, said Ms. 1/irig. A question and answer session will follow the talk. The workshop and luncheon will cost $3.50. Tickets are available from Council members and from The Brunswick Beacon office in Shallotte or at the door. Coffee and doughnuts will be served during registration. Co-chairpersons of the event are councill members ln? Mao Mint?, and Margaret Shelton. Upcoming workshops planned by the council include an April session on coping with stress und women's health and a September workshop on communication skills und building u positive self-image.
