Hill To Preside
Dewey L. Hill, chairman of the
board of Hill's Food Stores, a 37-store
chain which includes two locations in
Shallotte, will preside at the 58th annual
convention of the N.C. Food
Dealers Association, of which he is
president.
An estimated 4000 people are expected
to attend the convention in
Charlotte beginning Aug. 11, which
wiii include a trade snow at the convention
center.
Completes Training
Army Private David K. Sutton, son
of Betty J. Sutton of Route 3, Iceland,
has completed training as a military
police specialist at Fort McClellan,
Ala.
Stone Receives Award
Paula Stone of Shallotte, human
resources coordinator for the
Brunswick Hospital in Supply, was

Humanitarian Award Tuesday.
Ms. Stone has been employed by
the hospital for five years. She was
nominated for the annual award by
her fellow employees and was chosen
by a selection committee.

4-H'ers Competed
Seven Brunswick County 4-H'ers
recently advanced to state
demonstration competition at the
N.C. 4-H Club Congress in Raleigh.
Michelle Sellers, as reported
earlier, won first place with a
demonstration called "The Business
of Babysitting."
Kerry Cumbee, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Gene Cumbee of Supply, was first >
runner-up in the electric area with a
demonstration called, "Motors Instead
of Muscles."
