Action on the fire department's nomination for the office was delayed |j| until the board's next meeting Wednesday, Dec. 4. On Nov. 19, firefighters nominated Michael Arnold as their chief by a majority vote, subject to approval of the town board. Also nominated was the acting chief, David Moore, who took office following the retirement of firefighter Curmnn Arnold, Ife Michael Arnold's father. Until the board acts on the nomination, Moore will continue as chief of the department According to town ordinances and the department's bylaws, anyone nominated to office must be an active member of the department and must have been a member for at least one year.
