Carson Todd, VKD chief, said Brunswick County Ls purchasing the )80,000 truck, and the gift of land adjoining their present properly is valued at $85,000. About $23,000 Ls needed to fund the facility expansion, and the fire department is asking for contributions from residents and pro|>crt) owners in the Sunset Beach fire district. "There Ls a con.stant need to update our equipinent," Todd said, "and firefighters must stay abreast of the latest techniques. Dinner Planned By Rescue Squad The Town Creek rescue squad will hold a fund-raising dinner Saturday at tt)c squad building on U.S. 17 in Winnubow. The menu will include barbecue pork, cole slaw, candied yams, hushpuppies, fried chicken, green beans, potato salad and rolls. The cost is $3 per plate, with pro ceeds to be used to support the rescue squad.
