Rev. Charles Jacobs officated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Vereen of Bolivia. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Henry Jenkins of New Orleans, La. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a lotig formal gown of white satin and lace. It featured a front and back V-neck formed by scalloped Venise lace decorated with seed pearls and sequins. Wedding Plans Are Announced Grace Mason of Holden Beach has announced the engagement and up coming marriage of her daughter, Rebecca Elaine Mason, to Richard Watson, also of Holden Beach. Watson is the son of Frank and Martha Watson of Charlotte. The wedding is scheduled for 7 p.ni. June 25 at Surfside Pavilion at Holden Beach, with the Rev. Norman Gunther officiating. The reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. June 24 at 108 Greensboro SL, Holden Beach. No invitations are being sent, but relatives and friends are invite,:. Venise notifs embelli.shed the front bodice and cut out lace motifs with seed pearls adorned the leg-o’-mutton sleeves with pearl but tons at the cuff. The basque waist was formed by jeweled Venise lace bands, with lace motifs cascading from the front skirt to the scalloped hea''‘ne. The chapel train completed the gown, with bands of cutout lace on the back skirt and 'train. Her veil of silk illusion was at tached to a headband accented with a spray of seed pearls. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses and babies’ breath with greenery. Her matron of honor was Dorcia Hatkless of Upper Marlboro, Md. and her maid of honor was Felita Vereen, her sister. They wore Iden tical tea-length dresses of rose satin with V neck and back and carried nosegays of carnations. Bridesmaids Pam Mumford of Chapel Hill, Karen Kirk of Wibn- ington and Titania Galloway of Bolivia wore the same tea-length rose satin dresses. They carried arm bouquets of white carnations. Sgt Jenkins chose Stanley Carter of Olar, S.C., as his best man. Ushers were Joseph Ashford III, James Jenkins of New Orleans, La., Henry White Jr. of Eastern Shores. Va., and To Wed July 4 Florida Mr. and Mrs. K.W. Briles of Shallotte have announced the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Ann, and Charles Dwayne Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Smith of Ash. The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 4 at 2 p.m. at New Britain Baptist Church in Ash. Friends and relatives or the couple are invited. Rhythm And Blues Singer To Perform Millie Jackson, rhythm and blues singer, will give a fund-raising con-. cert June 27 at the Longwood d^c auditorium. Featured In the program, which begins at 8 p.m., will be a guest ap pearance by Chocolate Buttermilk. Foxy 99s disc jockey Greg James wrill be master of ceremonies. Donations will be 810 in advance and $12 at the door. Proceeds will be used to purchase playground equip ment for the I>ongwood Civic Center, on Hwy. 904, five miles north of Grissettown and four miles south of Ash. Mr. and Mrs. O’Neal Vamam of Holden Beach have announced the forthcoming wedding of their daughter, Dianna Kay, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Aaron Bruce Walker, also of Cocoa Beach. He is the son of Col. and Mrs. Aaron Walker of Oklahoma. Hielr wedding will take place July 12 at 6 p.m. at the Garden Chapel on Merritt Island, Fla. The bride is a graduate of South Brunswick High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she earned a B. A. in recreation administration. The groom is a graduate of SL Par rish High School, New Orleans, and has been with the U.S. Army since 1982. Older readers will explore their way through adventurous reading in reading clubs that begin July 7. Four afternoons of art will give six to 13-year-olds a chance to learn shellcrafL kite-making, solar and t-shirt printing. ’There is no fee for these programs and registration is not required. All Brunswick County children and visitors are invited to participate.
