After over si.\ months of repair work, Bolivia
Volunteer Fire Departmenfs mo.st important firctruck
is back serving the community.
While transporting water to a wools fire on Feb. 9,
the department’s 1981 Gruman P'irecat pumper—also
called Engine No. 3—sustained e.xtensive body damage
in a wreck on Galloway Hoad.
According to Bolivia Fire Chief Wayne Bowling, the
pumper went out of control as it entered a curve and
rolled over at least once.

“It’s been a burden." Bowling said. Thi.s truck i.s
used mainly for structure fires. We’ve got other trucks,
but they’re homemade, and the\ don’t have the
capabilities that thi.s oiio's r was really missed.’’
Bowling said Engine No. 3 i.s important to Bolivia

$40,000, while another $5,000 damage was done to equip
ment on board. Insurance covered repair and replace
ment costs, the cliief added.

was out of service, undergoing repairs at l.aurinburg
