What do Samoas, Tagalongs, Thin
Mints, Do-si-dos, Trefoils and Echoes
have in common?
They're all Girl Scout cookies, and
local troops are
^ v taking orders
1 through
February 8 fur
M delivery in midW
J March.
Eva Grumpier of Supply, cookie
manager/assistant leader of
Brownie Troop No. 724 and new
Junior Troop 859 in Shallotte, said the
annual cookie sale is the main fundraising
project for local troops. For
example, last year Troop No. 724
earned more than $500.
Local troops retain 30 cents per bo*
from the cookie sales, while the council
aiiu bakery also get suaTcS of the
profits. Council proceeds are used for
operations, camping and other
special programs.
This year's price is unchanged
from last year, $2 per box, with the
count per box ranging from 15 to 41
cookies per box depending on the
tvDe cookie chosen.
