"Doky" Saffo of Coldwell Banker Hanover Realty Inc. and Jim Teachey of J.T. Realty plan to open a itolf course community, with swimming pool and tennis courts, sometime next year. The project is situated between U.S. 17 and N.C. 133 on 900 acres of land purchased for $2.5 million from I.P. Timberland. a subsidiary of International Paper. This is Saffo's first golf course community. He said he expects the project to cost auoui >10 milium, wiin $H million going toward construction of the 18-hole golf course. The semi-private Jackey's Creek Country Club will feature rolling fairways carved from hardwoods. The land is ideal for building lakes and ponds, he added. Club membership will be free for all community residents and also available to outsiders for a fee yet to e determined. According to Saffo, the community will include about 8iX) lots for patio homes and townhouses. In addition to properties overlooking the golf course, lakeside and forest lots will also be available at prices ranging from $16,500 to $50,000. because of its location just across the Cape Fear River from Wilmington. Saffo said he expects the community to be attractive to investors. Saffo explained that skyrocketing housing costs in New Hanover County turned his sights to Brunswick County, where he has alreadydeveloped two residential communities near Belville. He said the congestion and housing crunch in Wilmington will naturallyspread southwest into Brunswick County over the next several years, just as similar problems along the Grand Strand in South Carolina have Legal Notices ESTATE NOT UK The undersigned. having qualified as Executor of the Estate of Alice Virginia Hedgecock, deceased, late of Brunswick County, this is to notify all persons having, claims against said estate to present them to the undersigned on or U-fote the 3rd da> of September. or tins notice will be pleaded in bar of their recovery All persons indebted to said estate will please make immediate payment to the undersigned.
