Grand Strand General Hospital's
Health Fair 'SB on May 14 at
Briarcliffe Mall will be a double
celebration, also marking the Myrtle
Beach hospital's 10 anniversary.
The "You're Our Specialty" theme
fair runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and
will feature 38 booths of healthrelated
agencies, many providing
free services and information. Free
services include vision screening,
glaucoma screening, body fat
measurements, height and weight,
posture checks, oral cancer screening,
blood sugar testing and computerized
nutritional analysis.
And, for a $2 charge, a threeminute
cholesterol levei check will

Officers of the new Holden Beach
VFW Post No. 8866 will be installed at
a dinner meeting May 20 at 7:30 p.m.
at Betty's Waterfront Restaurant on
Old Ferry Road.
To be installed are Harry Yoder,
commander; John Nash, senior vice
commander; Tink Lawing, junior
vice commander; John Tandy, advocate;
Jeff Conaway, surgeon; Earl
Ellis, chaplain; and Bob Campbell,
quartermaster.
Billy Ray Cameron of Sanford, a
past national Veterans of Foreign
Wars commander and Holden Beach
property owner, will preside at the
installation.
Also expected to attend are Glen
Elks Women
Make-up demonstrations by Tony
Hicks, an Oil of Mink representative,
are planned following the May 18
business meeting of the Calabash
Elks Indies Auxiliary.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the
Elks Lodge, Traders Village,
Calabash.
Two members will be used as
models, as Hicks offers advice on
choosing make-up suited to the
wearer.
Members will be bringing zip-lock
bags with personal care items for
deliver)' by Betty Wetzel and Edwina
Snyder to Hope Harbor Home for use
by the shelter's clients.
A dessert card party will be held at
the Elks Lodge on June 2 at 1 p.m.,
for members and their guests.
Exercise class continue to meet
from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesdays and
Thursdays at the lodge; cost is $8 per
month or $1 per class.
Profits from a recent cake and
rummage sale will be shared with the
Elks, with some set aside for the
bingo games the auxiliary holds the

facility in Shallotte.

Without Partners being formed in the
area.
An organizational meeting will be
held Sunday, May 15, at 3 p.m. at the
Elks Club in Calabash.

who are interested in VFW activities
as well as members' friends and
