'Service Day'
Shallotte Lions are sponsoring
"World Lions Service Day" at The
Brunswick Hospital on October 8
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a visit
from the American Red Cross Bloodmobile
as well as several free services.
On World Service Day Lions all
over the world simultaneously show
appreciation for their communities.
Shallotte Lions will be coordinating
free blood pressure checks by the
hospital's staff, eye care information
provided by Carolina Eye Associates
and a drawing for a $50 grocery certificate
from Piggly-Wiggly.
In turn, those who attend Service
Day can also show appreciation for
their community by donating blood
at an on-site American Red Cross
Bloodmobile station, indicated
spokesman Jess Parker.
Most individuals age 17 and older
who are in good health will qualify as
a donor. Those with questions can bring
information on their medical condition
and medication for the bloodmobile
team to review.
