' The suit was filed March 22 in U.S. 1 District Court in Wilmington by Robert Hugh Hewson. Defendants in the suit were Sheriff John C. Davis, ' Chief Deputy John Marlow and the 1 four deputies?Gregory Wood, Roger i Harrington, Donald Gates and Carl t Pearson. < Clegg refused to comment Monday on the terms of the settlement which 1 he said was reached Dec. 1. < However, he noted that no county ' money was involved because "it was i an insured matter."
