Recruit Trained
U.S. Navy Airman Recruit Ste
phen O. Perkins, son of William F.
and Lois P. Willoughby of Shallottc,
has completed recruit training at
Recruit Training Command, San
Diego, Calif.
During the eight-week cycle, he
studied general military subjects in
preparation for additional training
in one of the Navy's 85 basic fields.
A 1989 graduate of WCvSt Bruns
wick High School, Perkins joined
the Navy in August.

ployment, the squadron will replace

tinue their combat efficiency train
ing in the Western Pacific Ocean.
Benton is the son of William P.
and Gloria J. Benton of Route 3,
Shalloltc. A 1982 graduate of West
Brunswick High School, he joined
the Marine Corps in Sept. 1983.

Shallotle Lions will hold their
Christmas party Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. at
Sandpiper Golf and Country Club,
with ail visiting Lions and their
