RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Town Council of Sunset Beach has been re
quested to permanently close portions of Marlin Street, Sailfish
Street, CoDia Street and Dolphin Street in the Town of Sunset
Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council feels that it is in the public in
terest to consider said request and to hear all interested persons
in connection with said matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council
of the Town of Sunset Beach pursuant to G.S. 160A-299 as
follows:
1 . That the Town of Sunset Beach intends to permanently
close the hereinafter described streets located in the Town of
Sunset Beach;
(a) Ten feet in width along the western line of Cobia Street
and ten feet in width along the eastern line of Cobia
Street from the intersection of Cobia Street with Canal
Drive to the entrance channel to the finger canals.
(b) Ten feet in width along the western line of Dolphin
Street and ten feet in width along the eastern line of
Dolphin Street from the intersection of Dolphin Street

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Board of Commissioners of the Town of Ocean Isle Beach
will hold a public hearing at the Town Hall located at 3 West
Third Street at 9:00 a.m. on December 12. 1989, on the ques
tions of:
1. Adoption of an Ordinance Establishing Extraterritorial
Jurisdiction Boundaries.
2. Revisions to the Zoning Ordinance including the Ordin
ance text and the Official Zoning Map.
3. Revision to the Subdivision Ordinance to expand juris
diction to include the Extraterritorial Area.
4. Revision to the Town Building Code to expand jurisdiction
to include the Extraterritorial Area.
Adoption of items 2, 3 and 4 relating to the Zoning Ordinance,
the Subdivision Ordinance, and the Building Code is contingent
upon the adoption of Item 1 , the Extraterritorial Ordinance.
This action is being taken pursuant to Article 19 of Chapter 160A
of the General Statutes of North Carolina.
The proposed area of extraterritorial jurisdiction includes land on
both sides of Highway NC 179 from and including Tarheeland
Acres to Bent Tree Plantation (not included) and is described
generally as follows:
Approximately 1 ,800 acres lying north of the town limits;
bounded on the west by the western development line of
Tarheeland Acres (included); bounded on the north by
the northern development line of Ocean Pine Acres
(included), the eastern development line of Ocean Aire
Estates (not included), the southern development line of
Ouail Run Estates (not included), Jennys Branch and a
portion of Pine Creek development at the intersection of
NC 179 and State Road 1154; and bounded on the east
by the western development line of Bent Tree Plantation
(not included).
The map showing the exact boundaries of the proposed Extrater
ritorial Jurisdiction Area and a copy of the proposed revised Zon
ing Ordinance and copies of proposed revisions to the Building
Code and Subdivision Ordinance are available for public review
at the Ocean Isle Beach Town Hall, 3 West Third Street, during
normal business hours.
Should the Town Commissioners adopt the extraterritorial
jurisdiction ordinance, the Town would have the authority to
enforce zoning, subdivision regulations, building codes and the
flood damage prevention ordinance in the extraterritorial area.
