Surfers Compete In Contest Eighty-four surfers braved She chilly waters off Long Bcach March 3 for the third annual Polar Bear Surf Contest. Conditions were ideal with waves in the chest- to head-high range. Surfers camc from as far away as Atlantic Beach and Surfside Bcach, S.C. to take part in the contest. Sponsors for the event were Surf Connection of Holden Bcach, Surf Unlimited of Shallotle and Perfec tion Surfboards.
