Moldcn Beach died Nov. 22 ai his
home.
The funeral was Nov. 24 at Sulli
van-King Mortuary in Anderson,
S.C., with the Rev. Taylor Campbell
and the Rev. Buddy Harrison offici
ating. Burial was in Salem Baptist
Church Cemetery, Anderson.
Born in Joanna, S.C., he was the
son of the late Rev. W.S. and Lcona
Ferguson Lawson. He was a U.S.
Navy veteran of World War II and
was a retired heating and air condi
tioning mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Ma
mie Lee Daniels Lawson of the
home; a stepdaughter, Nancy Alli
son of Holdcn Beach; a stepson,
Don Daniels of Statcsvillc; two sis
ters, Mrs. Thomas (Kathryn) Burr
iss of Anderson, S C., and Alberta
Willard of Laurens, S.C.; a brother,
Olin Lawson of Chattanooga, Tenn.;
and two granddaughters.

Myra Cornwell Thompson, 75, of
Ocean Isle Estates, died Nov. 25.
The funeral was Nov. 27 in Shal
lotte Presbyterian Church, with the
Rev. Dan Norman and the Rev. Wil
liam E. Thomas officiating. Burial
was in Brunswick Memorial Gard
ens, Shallottc.
She was the daughter of the late
Brooks and Fannie Cauthcn Corn
well.
Survivors include two daughters,
Mrs. John (Frances T.) Williams of
Ocean Isle Beach and Mrs. Rick
(Harriet "Tweet") Ward of Sunset
Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Edwin J.
Wallace of Columbia, S.C., and
Mrs. Garfield Fulmer Jr. of Laurens,
S.C.; two granddaughters, Carol
Long of Calabash and Lesa W. Ab
sher of Ocean Isle Beach; and three
great-grandchildren.

BELTON O'NEAL BRYAN
Belton O'Neal Bryan, 80, of Fair
fax, Va., and a part-time resident of
Holdcn Beach, died Nov. 11 at his
home. He was a retired lawyer, sol
dier and diplomat who also had
worked for Martin Marietta Corp. in
Baltimore.
The funeral was Nov. 16 at Fort
Mycr Chapel, with burial in Arling
lon^National Cemetery, Washington,
Bryan served on active Army du
ty from 1941 to 1948 and retired
from the reserves as a colonel in the
1960s. He spent much of his career
in the Army's contracts branch.
From 1948 to 1962 he served in
the Foreign Service. Posts included
those of first secretary of the em
bassy in Athens and consul general
in Glasgow. His last post was a
deputy assistant secretary of state
for security and consular affairs.
He then spent five years as a con
tracts director with Martin Marietta.
From 1967 until retiring in 1972, he
was in private law practice in Crys
tal City, Md. He specialized in con
tract law.
Bryant was bom in South Caro
lina and was a graduate of Duke
University and George Washington
University law school.
He received the Army Commen
dation Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Mild
red, of Fairfax, Va.; three sons,
O'Neal Bryan of Alexandria, Va.,
MichacI Bryan of Fairfax, and
Richard Bryan of North Carolina; a
daughter, Susan B. Ehrekc of Okla
homa; two sisters. Myrtle Atkins of
Fairfax and Dorothy West of Rich
mond, Va.; four grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren.
The family suggested that expres
sions of sympathy be made in the
form of contributions to the Visiting
Nurse Association of Northern Vi
ginia, South Stafford Street, Arling
ton. Va. 22206-9935.

Nov. 21, at New Hanover Memorial
Hospital, Wilmington.

tery, officiated by the Rev. David
Traynham and the Rev. Brian Perry.
Mrs. Heath was bom Sept. 26,
1900, to the late James and Lizzie
Lashlcy. She was preceded in death
by her husband, C.L. Heath, and son,
Elvin Ray Heath. She was a member
of Wesley Methodist Church.
Survivors includc five daughters.

Methodist Church in Ramscur and
had been active in civic and com
munity affairs in Ramscur.

May 5, 1916, Bozeman was the son
of the late Tasker and Lissic Hick
man Bozeman. He was a retired
commercial fisherman and a U.S.
Army veteran.
