That's just one of a number of events planned this holiday season by the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department. Parents must fill out a Santa Call ing form before Dcc. 7. Forms arc available at the Parks and Recrea tion office at the Brunswick County government complex in Bolivia and at local libraries. Forms will also be distributed in the schools. Calls will be made Dec. 11-14. Make Cookies Workshops on making cookies and other goodies are scheduled by the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department at the fol lowing locations: Lcland Comm unity Building, Nov. 29, 7 p.m., and Waccamaw Community Building, Dec. 3,6:30 p.m. All materials are provided and there is no fee. Persons should reg ister by calling the Parks and Re creation office. Participants should bring their own containers. Sponge Painting Sweatshirts and T-shirts can be turned into holiday clothing by sponge painting Christmas designs on them. The Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department will hold painting workshops at the Town Creek Community Building, Dec. 5, and the Lock wood Folly Commu nity Building, Dcc. 6, at 6 p.m. Participants should register by Friday, Nov. 30, and bring a white, red or green shirt. All materials will be provided. After-School Arts An after-school arts program fea luring a goodies workshop for ages 6-13 will t>c held at the following locations: Shallollc Library, Dcc. 10: Soulhport Library, Dcc. 12: Lc land Library, Dcc. 14. All times arc 4-5 p.m. In the program, which is spon sored by the Brunswick County Libary System and the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation De partment, children will make holi day treats thai can be eaten. Parly Planned A community Christmas parly w ill be held Sunday, Dcc. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Public Assembly Build ing at ihe county government com plex in Bolivia. The parly is sponsored by ihe Brunswick County Parks and Rec reation Department and is free. Family entertainment will be pro vided. Santa is also scheduled to ap pear. Open House Fort Fisher Stale Historic Site will host a Christmas open house Saturday, Dec. 1, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served and entertainment will be provided by local musicians and choral groups. A small living history encamp ment will be set up on the grounds. Admission is free. For more in formation, call 458-5538. Trees For Sale This will be the last year the Brunswick County Agricultural Ex tension Office will sell Christmas trees from its demonstration plot on U.S. 17 in front of the government complex in Bolivia. A selection of white pine, Vir ginia pine and red cedar ranging from 5 feel to 10 feet in height will be available. The $25 cost per tree will be giv en to the Brunswick County 4-11 Development Fund.
