Mrs. Myrick was a dnig addict and tormented with fear to the ex tent she walked around her own home with a loaded gun, says Toni Iossi, fellowship treasurer. Her mar riagc was falling apart and as a woman, wife and mother, she felt herself a complete failure. On Tuesday, March 30, 1971, Mrs. Myrick was going to take her own life. Workshop Offers Advice On Getting Student Aid Parents of Brunswick County high school students can find oul about financial aid for collcge study at a free workshop scheduled Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the ALS building teaching auditorium at Brunswick Community College near Supply. Conducted by Linda Morcfield, BCC's financial aid officcr, the workshop will covcr several facets of financial aid, said Bertiia Bell, a guidance counselor at West Brunswick High School. These will include advice on how to complete a standard college aid application used by two- and four-year institutions and mistakes commonly made in filling them out; and the different type?, of grants, loans and work-study pro grams available for students. Information on local scholarships is available from counselors at each of the three county high schools, since they vary from school to school. For more information, contact the guidance office at one of the local high schools: West Brunswick, North Brunswick or South Brunswick. At West Brunswick High, said Ms. Bell, parents have been sent, by their WBHS student, a letter with a form that they arc asked to sign and return indicating if they plan to attend the workshop. Mrs. Sellers was bom in Bruns wick County on March 24, 1899, the daughter of the late Green and Elizabeth Williams Lewis. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was the widow of Harry Sellers. Thomas Melillo Jr., 70, of Cala bash, died Jan. 2 at his home after a long illness. Vic Potter officiating. Burial was in Town Creek Baptist Church Ceme tery. Pigeon was bom Dec. 29, 1928, in Iron River, Mich., a son of the late Joseph and Annabelle Pigeon. He was a former employee of Copper Mines in Michigan, and was also a construction worker. His last job before his illness was on the land bridge at Boiling Spring Lakes. Pigeon was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church and V.F.W. Post No. 9408 in Lcland. Friendship Bible Coffees Topic Of Training Seminar A day-long session Monday, Jan. 21, sponsored by the Christian Women's Club of Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach will explain the how's and why's of conducting Friendship Bible Coffees as well as training leaders to conduct such cof fees.
