DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Responsible for the total process of deter
mining/redetermining eligibility in a financial assistance program. Work
includes the interviewing of clients to obtain required information, com
pleting applications, verifying the information obtained and determining
eligibility or completing scheduled reviews. The employee must explain
program(s) requirements and options and advise or refsr clients to
other programs as appropriate.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from
high school and three (3) years of paraprofessional or other public con
tact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining
information, the gathering and compiling of data, the performance of
mathematical functions, or an equivalent combination of training and
experience. One year of previous work experience as an Income
Maintenance Caseworker. Additional education can be substantiated
for work experience, except for the Income Maintenance Casework
experience. Preference given to additional years of education.
