A major draw for the festival is oysters, cooked in a variety of ways. Shrimp, fried fish, coleslaw and hushpuppies will be plentiful. T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring this year's logo are already on sale at the Chamber office. Join the fun Oct. 1 8 and 1 9 at the 11th Annual N.C. Oyster Festival held at Seaside at the intersection of Hwys. 904 and 179. Sponsored by the South Brunswick Islands Chamber of Commerce, this event is a tribute to a fall favorite... fresh oysters! Band of Oz will perform Friday night and Saturday during the festival. OCTOBER IS FESTIVAL MONTH in the South Brunswick Islands r After the Oyster Festival, look forward to the annual North Carolina Festival By The Sea at Holden Beach the next weekend, Oct. 25, 26 and 27. Sponsored by the Greater Holden Beach Merchants' Association, this festival begins with a Halloween carnival on Friday night. Festivities continue Saturday with a 'Salute To Our Troops' parade, arts and crafts show, fun runs, surfing contest, horseshoe pitching, long driving contest and sand sculpture. Bridge games... and lots of food! < FESTIVAL BY THE SEA OCTOBER 25.26.27 1991 HOLDEN BEACH. N.C. But save some energy, 'cause the fun continues at the street dance Saturday evening featuring a live band. Sunday's entertainment is a Gospel Sing By The Sea with music by local gospel groups.
