The Weather Was Perfect; Fishing Fast And Furious BY JAMIK M1L1.1KKN Wow! What a weekend ol fishing. The weather was absolutely per led for offshore fishing and plenty of Knits took lull advantage of it. Skipper Brummctt and I CAPTAIN fished my boat, the Caribbean Soul, on a rocky iamie'C bottom 54 miles ofT Shallotte Inlet. The water JHIYIIS 9 was crystal clear and tliere were excellent weed OFFSHORE lines to troll on. It was perfect! We had a great FISH I NO catch of kings and dolphin. The dolphin were ? really putting on aerial displays. They are truly a REPORT great game fish to catch and, in my opinion, the most beautiful thing in the ocean. The llshing for us was fast ami lun ous. ***** We were not the only ones who experienced a great day offshore. David Kourk and Al McLattrin caught their limit of kings and literally loaded the Unit w ith red snapper and grouper. Dave Wilson and Don Pfclfcrle, fishing the Sea Lark, caught their limit til dolphin ami kings. ??*?? My fishing friends from Atlanta were in town and there is no safe place for fish when they are here. I'm talking about that Make Mac crew of Rube McMullan anil Ins sons, This time Rube brought Henry Bishop and Henry's boat, the Procrastinaior, up from Atlanta. Henry had several bull dolphin that weighed in at over 35 pounds each. Rube had his share of bulls and a 4 1 -pound wahoo to fill his fish box with. Now this wahoo did not take kindly to the fact that he was boated and in the blink of an eye he bit Bryant McMullan. resulting in a nasty bite above the ankle. Thanks To Dr. Suh and the sewing needle they put him back together. Here is the fish tip. Practically all of our dolphin and even the wa hoo were caught on a new lure called the Boat-o-matic. It is awesome! Stop by my place in Shallotte and I'll show you how it works. ***** l"he big kings caught this weekend were a 29-poundcr by Boyce Brown on the Queen Bee III and a 32-pounder caught by Tommy Norris and Jim Suggs on the lorn Boy. What a great weekend. Let's hope the 4th will be pretty so we can get on them again! Until next time, ught lines, bent rods and good fishin". This Week's Tide Table JULY HIGH LOW Day Dale A.U P.M.
