MR. AM) MRS. BRENT VARNAM ...Rebecca Rurcham Yarrtam Brent Varnams Make Their New Home in Hoiden Beach Brent and Rebecca Burcham Var nam are now making their home in Holdcn Beach. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Joycc and Fred Burcham of Long Bcach. A graduate of South Brunswick High School, she attends Brunswick Community College He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bil ly Varnam of Holdcn Beach. A graduate of West Brunswick High School, he also attends Brunswick Community College. They were married March 3 at 3 p.m. in Gospel Center Baptist Church at Vamamtown. The Rev. Ivren Hughes of Shal lottc officiated the double ring cere mony. Given in maniage by her family and escorted by her brother, Robert Burcham of Largo. Fla., the bride wore an After Six Bridal Collection l'amour satin and hand-beaded lace gown with a sabrina neckline. The dress featured off the shoulders pouff sleeves w ith how detail and a fitted bodice. The bouffant skirt had an apron-effect at back and a semi cathedral train. He fingertip double veil consisted of a band of alencon floral lace and pearl sprays accented with a pouff. She carried a cascade of bridal roses, white freesia and white mini ature carnations with greenery. Jcnina Connor served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Martha Stanley. Vanessa Vamam, Shannon Stone. Shirley Driver and Donna Clemmons. Junior bridesmaids were Jennifer Stanley and Tiffany Fulwood. Crystal Driver served as flower girl. The attendants wore pink matte taffeta bouffant gowns with an off the shoulder, wire-edged milled neckline thai cascaded into a V back. The basque bodice was accented with a wire-edged ruffled back |x' plum highlighted with a bow. Billy Vamam. father of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were Leamon Clcmmons, Jody Clemmons and Hubert Vamam, cousins of the groom; and Michacl Langlcy and Robert Norton, friends ol the groom. Blake Stone served as ring bearer. The church was decorated with candelabrum and floral sprays of roseria alstomcria, fuschia mini car nations. (Hirple irises, white daisies, dark pink snapdragons and yellow frccsia. Music was provided by Sandy and Greg Duran of Shalloitc, Anch Crumpton of Raleigh, harpist, and Tina Rence Hewctt of Supply, pian ist. Martha Brown, aunt of the bride, attended the guest register. A reception at Betty's Waterfront Restaurant followed the ceremony. Batten of Charleston, S.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Smith of Wagram. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. James V. Mulholland of Shal lotte. The bride wore a formal gown of ivory satin styled with an off-thc shouldcr sweetheart neckline, open puff sleeves and a natural waist. Ibe nccklinc, bodice and sleeves were trimmed with hand-beaded alcncon lace. The full skirt featured an extended pcplum and flowed into a semi-cathedral length train. As a headpiece, she wore a fingertip length veil of illusion adorned with silk (lowers and pearl loops. She carried a casual cascading bouquet of biiiiai wiiiic iuscs, stephanotis, daisies, snow flake poms, miniature carnation and gyp sophilia with assorted foliage and ivory streamers. Yvonne Johnson of Erwin served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa and Jaclyn Smith of Wa grain, sisters of the bride; Kathleen Mulhollaml of Shallotlc and Mary Masius of Greenville, sisters of the groom; and Nancie McLaughlin ol Faycttcvillc. They wore tea length dresses of blue danubc satin with a scooped neckline and a V-back, ac cented with crisscross straps. The basque waistline featured a cascad ing bow with rose trim. They carried hand-tied clutch bouquets of miniature carnations, lilies, daisies, cornflowers, stalice and gypsophilia in mixed summer shades, with assorted foliage and mixed ribbon streamers. Hope Harbor Meets Challenge Hope Harbor Home has been awarded 510,000 from the Kathleen Price and Joseph M. Bryan Family Foundation, according to Cathy Swaim, program director. Last November the foundation challenged Hope Harbor Home and the community to raise matching funds of 510,000 in order to reccive this grant. "I am happy to report that we were able to reach this goal," re ported Ms. Swaim. "Wc have had so much community support." A number of local industries, businesses and civic groups con tributed to the effort.
