Blood Drive Set At Trinity Church A blood drive will he held Wednesday, Aug. 28, by the Ameri can Red Cross at Trinity United Methodist Church in Soulhport front 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Red Cross consultant Jean Mai wald said donors need to he 17 years of age, weigh at least 1 10 |H>unds and be in gixxl health. Donations should be spaced at least 56 days apart. Ms. Maiwald said blood is used by hospitals as a medical therapy. Us availability can mean the differ ence between life and death to pa tients who need blood. Married 50 Years Mr. and Mrs. Robert //. Gibson of 6 Isle Plaza, Ocean Isle Heach, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 10 in their home. The reception was hosted by the couple's children, Randall II. Gibson, Robert M. Gibson, William II. Gibson and Julie G. Scott. The couple was married Aug. 14, 1941 , in llartsville, S.C. They have four grandsons and two granddaughters. Red Cross BIixhI Services, Caro lina Region, is the third largest in die country, providing blood to 90 hospitals in the state. Its daily collection goal is 1,200 units. Shallotte High Class Of 1971 Slates Reunion Members of the Shallotlc High School Class of 1971 will hold their 2()th year reunion Labor Day week end at Sandpiper Bay Golf & Coun try Club.
