DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES Performs a variety of clerical tasks in
daily operation of the County Landfill. Duties may include opera
tion of weight scales to determine amount of solid waste entering
the landfill system. Some independent judgment involved.
Opeiates common types of office equipment. Subject to usual
hazards associated with the use of sanitation equipment in vary
ing weather conditions. Inspects reports and forms for accuracy
and completeness and compliance with policies and procedures;
operates weight scale and records data; performs related work as
required. Under general supervision of the Solid Waste Director.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Working
knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, grammar and vocaoulary.
Working knowledge of heavy weight scale and some knowledge
ct the operational techniques of a modern sanitation landfill Ability
to operate heavy weight scale for vehicles. Understands written
and oral instructions. Ability to read and compare words and fig
ures carefully and accurately. Ability to deal courteously with the
general public. Graduation from high school: or an equivalent
combination of experience and training.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Must become a permanent legal resi
dent of Brunswick County within six months from date of employ
ment.
