CARNIVAL Halloween Event Offers Fun Time For The Young At Heart Youngsters of all ages will frolic Friday, Oct. 25, at Tri Beach Volunteer Fire De partment during the annual N.C. Festival By The Sea Halloween Carnival. Kid's carnival games, a haunted house and a costume contest for all ages will oiler thrills, chills and lots of fun. according to co-chairpersons Brenda Strickland and Dave Deaver. In general the event will follow the same formal as in previous years. However, this year's cos tume contest features a few new twists. Registration for the contest be gins at 6 p.m., with judging at 6:30 p.m. There is no fee to enter. The funniest, most original and scariest judging categories have been elimi nated while more age divisions have been created, said Ms. Strickland. First, second and third place ribbons will be awarded in each of seven age divisions: birth through IS months; 19 months-3 years: 4-6; 7 10; 11-13; 14-16; and 17 and older. The N.C. Festival By The Sea has close ues to Halloween and its influence is evident not only at the Carnival but in the Saturday morn ing parade.
