She was organizing president ol the Old New Hanover Geneological Society , which she said has estab lished a strong reputation lor pub lishing old records, thus providing easier access for researchers. Of local interest, Mrs. Jarrett an nounced that the Brunswick Counts 1840 and I860 census records are near publication. Mrs. Jarrett is project chief lor publishing Brunsw ick County Court Minutes. Every three months ses sions ol the old Court of Common Please and Quarter Sessions brought a county fair atmosphere to tiie host town. Everything from pro bate ol wills to minor grievances, appointment ol law enforcement and supervisory personnel and granting ol licenses for some busi nesses filled the doc ket, she said. Chapter member Lucille Blake of Lcland was congratulated on her re cent publication of the 1890 Bruns wick County tax list. Since the fed eral census for 1890 was desuoyed in a lire, this will serve as a partial census, said Mrs. Blake. Beautification To Meet The Holden Beach Beautification Committee will continue to discuss landscaping the town hall grounds when it meets Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. at the town hall.
