Waterway Regatta Will Ring In Season At North Myrtle Boats will once again went their way up the Atlantic Inlracoasial Waterway in a festive holiday dis play Saturday, Nov. 30, when the Jaycccs of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., hold their seventh annual Intra coastal Christmas Regatta. The event will include a food drive for needy families in that area. The event begins at 4:30 p.m. at Tilghman Point, and the public is in vited to watch the night-time marine parade along the Atlantic lntia coastal Waterway as dozens of boats pass by, said Amy Bruton, publicity director for the Jaycccs. The parade mute ends approximately 7 p.m. ai Verccn's Marina in North Myrtle Beach. Ms. Bruton said that admission will be accepted in their traditional asking form of canned goods, un wrapped toy or financial contribu lion which the Jaycccs will he col lecting to distribute to underprivi leged families during the holiday season. Boat owners will he competing in the regatta by dressing up their ves sels with lights, music and other decorations. The entry fee for hoaLs is S25 each. Awards will be presented in five different categories: sailboat, power boat, power boat (27 feet to 50 feet), power boat (over 50 feet) and pon toon/houseboat. Winners of each category will be announced at the awards ceremony held Dec. 1 at Pal metto Shores Marina, North Myrtle Beach.
