Bring Canned Goods To Chamber , Meeting l?Y IIOI.I.Y KICIIAKDS, KXKCUTIVK VICK I'KKSIDKM I South Brunswick Islands Chamber Of Commerce Here at the chamber we have many things to be thanklul for this Thanksgiving. We are all healthy, have plenty ol lood, roofs ovei our heads and we're all planning to spend the holiday with some wonderful friends and family. Personally, I'll be going home to Raleigh to spend the holiday with my family. Corky, my old cat, is go nig home too. That should be a real treat. He hates to ride in the car and he'll meow loudly like he is in im mense pain during the whole three hour drive. I'or those of you that don't know my cat, lie's huge and has long while hair. When he gets upset, and believe me he'll be upset, he sheds all over everything. By the time I get home. I'll probably have so much hair in my mouth that I won't lie interested in eating any Thanksgiving turkey. Not to mention I'll be deal from playing loud mu sic to drown out his constant singing. Singing? 'Hull's a good word for it. You see bringing Corky home is a test for the longer holiday coming up next month. My mom, a cat lover loo, now has two cats. My mother is not one to pick up stray animals, bui recently this poor little kilty took up on her doorstep and she fell sorry for it. Yeah, right Mom! Iliis means thai my Mom will have three cats in her house over Thanksgiving and Christmas. Did I mention that I haven't told her thai Corky is com ing with me? She gets a copy of the Beacon, let's hope that she reads litis before I get home! Boy has she got a lot to Ik* thankful for. In all seriousness now, we have a food box here at the chamber for those who arc not as fortunate. Please bring canned food items to the chamber. Also we're asking thai you bring canned item to our Business After Hours on "Thursday, Dec. 5 at Paula's A Touch ol Elegance. We arc looking forward to seeing you there. From all the girls here in the chamber office, Happy Turkey Day! Enjoy your holiday. KICIIAKOS BUSINESS BRIEFS After Hours Slated Members of the South Brunswick Islands Chamber of Commerce arc asked to bring a canncd good to help a needy family as their entree to a "Business Alter Hours" scheduled next week as part of the "Hometown Holidays" program.
