Sea Notes Choral Society
Presents Christmas Concert
Members of the Sea Notes Choral
Society in Southport will join voices
Monday to present the society's
Christmas gilt to the community
its annual Christmas concert.
No admission will he charged to
A Celebration of Christmas, which
will be presented at 8 p.m. at the
Southport Community Building,
said Sandy Spencer, president of the

of light Christmas music. Selections
will include "We Need a Little
Christmas" from the musical Manic,
"The Christmas Waltz," "An Irving

ney's l.ady and the Tramp. "'Twas
the Night Before Christmas" and
"Hurry Home for Christmas." a jazz
waltz by Steve Lawrence, Eydic
Gonnc and Joe Mele, and several
other contemporary pieces.
Following a short intermission
and refreshments, the evening will
conclude with a sing-along of the
group's favorite Christmas carols.
While choral groups have existed
for a long time in the Southport area,
the Sea Notes was formally orga

'Love Light' Trees Honor Loved Ones
A "Love Light" tree was lighted
for Lower Cape Fear Hospice last
Monday for the first time on the
grounds of The Brunswick Hospital.
The tree is a collaborative effort
effort to raise money for Hospice
that involves Hospice volunteers and
volunteers and staff of the hospital.
About 35 individuals attended the
ceremony. It featured a Scripture
lesson and sermon by the Rev.
George D. Spcakc of Camp United
Methodist Church of Shalloltc,
singing of Christmas carols and
recognition of donors.
Hospice will continue to accept
sponsorships until Jan. 1 for lights
on the tree in honor or memory of
The donations will be used to
support the Hospice program in
Brunswick County. So far Hospice
has raised more than SI, (KM) through

Blanton, Hospice volunteer coordi
The Book of Honor, in which the
name of each person recognized is
recorded, is located in the lobby of
the hospital and was provided by the
hospital's Volunteer Auxiliary.
