Search On For Those Who Heard Broadcast BY IIOLLY RICHARDS, KXKCUTIVK VICE PRESIDENT South Brunswick Islands Chamber Of Commerce Did you hoar mc on the radio last week? Well. I was on one of our local radio stations giving away cash. 'Hun's cash lolks, cold hard cash! You need to register at participating Home-Town Holidays merchants for your chance to win. I'll be on again tins Thursday morning to give away more money and to announce the winner of our "Best Store Front Decoration Contest." The reason I'm asking if you heard me on the ra dio is that none of our "devoted" stal l remembered to listen to me. I was absolutely crushed. 1 got to the of fice all excited about my live radio broadcast. None of the girls said a word about it. Hmmm, we pro ceeded to have our stall meeting. I asked Mary ? Barton to please cut a check for our first winner, Klt "AKI>S Stephanie Batson of Shallottc. Still no one said anything about my radio interview. I asked Kathi Grissett to call Mrs. Batson and inform her that she had won the first of our three SI(X) cash prizes. Still no one said anything about my radio broadcast. It turns out that they didn't say anything about me being on the ra dio because they really didn't hear inc. Later, I talked with Annette Odom to finalize plans for our wonderful busincss-aftcr-hours that was hosted by Paula's a Touch of Elegance. Annette didn't hear me either! I was beginning to think that no one did! Finally, around lunch I got a phone call. Someone had heard me! My faith had been restored. I was going to live. I have assigned all the staff to listen to the radio this Thursday, and I'll be taking names. Remember, I told you we're having Secret Santa here at the office? No radio. No Secret Santa. Oh yes, I know that some one else heard mc, I left the radio on at home and Corky, the cat listened to mc. For those of you who read my Thanksgiving column and you're wondering how the trip home with the cat turned out, let's just say he'll be spending the Christmas holidays here in Brunswick County.
