The town's plan shows a new street that would carry tralllc just east of North Brunswick High School, cross Old I-ayeilcvillc Road and loop north to lorin .hi intersection at Village Road and Buldw in Drive. The plan will serve the needs of ihe 1 eland urban area until a Greater Wilmington Urban Area Transporta tion plan is approved. Councilmen George Yaies and Jane Gilbert voted against the plan, saying that its magnitude made it in appropriate for the old lx>ard to be dealing with it. They are now joined on the council by Mayor S.L. Doty and Councilman Thomas Hyatt. The board will choose, at a later date, someone to replace Benton, who resigned Dec. 5. Also on Thursday's agenda were the following: a report from the planning board chairman; appoint ment of a mayor pro tcm; street naming; adoption of a council meet ing schedule; amendment to the moratorium ordinance preventing two or more homes on a single lot until a zoning ordinance is in place; adoption of new street light guide lines; Also, an amendment of the bud get ordinance to remove a matching luiuls requirement; donation of funds to the Lincoln Primary Parent Teachers Organization; discussion ol a funding request from the North Brunswick High School Band Booster Club; appointment of a councilman to serve on the Wilmington Transportation Advis ory Board; anil appointment ol a personnel officer.
