Rafting Trip
Scheduled
The Bninswick County Parks and
Recreation Department has sched
uled a whitcwatcr rafting trip for
May 2-4 on the New River near Oak
Hill, W. Va.
The cost of the trip, open to per
sons over 21 years of age, is S125
lor a full day of rafting, two nights
camping, transportation and five
meals. Each person must provide
their own tent and sleeping bag.
A non-refundable deposit of
S50.77 is due by Monday, Feb. 24.

The six winners, who received
trophies for Iheir skills in Saturday's
event, advance to the Eastern North
Carolina regional contest scheduled
noon Saturday, Jan. 25, at Shalloltc
Middh School.
The state finals will take place
Feb. 22 in Reidsville. The winner
from that competition will go on to
the National Hoop Shoot April 4 in
Indianapolis, Ind.

week, beating Hattcras and Lejeune
Saturday after trouncing South
Brunswick last Wednesday.
The Trojans, who have won four
straight matches, beat Lejeune 49-24
and lopped Hattcras 60-18 in a tri
mect Saturday at Lejeune.

Brunswick Cougars 61-3 at Boiling

"It was a good experience for our

ing of what we can do in a tourna
ment."
Four North Brunswick wrestlers
went 4-1 on the day. They were
Roddic Jones at 125 pounds, Keith
Bullock at 130 pounds, Mike Ganey
at 135 pounds and Blake Hobbs at
160 pounds.
Brian Cook went 3-2 for the
Scorps at 11') pounds, and Dwaun
Gibbs was 3-2 in the I71-pi)unil
weight class.
