64-56 last Friday in Whitcvillc,
while the Golden Tornadoes man
handled visiting West Brunswick by
a score of XX- 54.

Wolfpack's eight-point win over the

and Mitchcll added 13 to lead the
Trojans to a 60-40 home win last
Wednesday over Wallace-Rose Hill.
West Brunswick trailed 4-2 early
in the game but scored 10 straight
points and led '4-6 al ter one quarter.
The Trojans extended their lead to
24-14 at halftime, forcing turnovers
wiih a variety of traps on defense.
West out-scored the Bulldogs 8-2
in the first three minutes of the sec
ond half to lake a 32-16 lead, but
Waiiacc-Rose made a niini-cornc
back to trim the Trojan lead to 12
points after three quarters.
Johnson scored eight points in the
final quarter, and West Brunswick
used a 9-0 run to sccurc its first win
of the season.
Jerome Chester led the Bulldogs
with 13 points, and Johnnie Glaspic
added 12.

The Golden Tornadoes led 24-12
after one quarter anil hail an IX

Fairmont's lead only got bigger in
the second half, as West Brunswick
was outscored 21-14 and 26-17 in
the last two periods.
Mitchell led West Brunswick with
1 3 points and Marlowe added 1 1 .
Watson was one of four Fairmont
players who hit double figures in the
game. Johnathan Grissctt scored 17,
Corry Addison added 15, and
Robert McKinnis had 13.

South Brunswick opened defense
of its Waccamaw 2-A Conference
boys' basketball championship last
Friday with a 76-73 overtime win at
East Bladen.
Point Guard Josh White scored 22
points to lead the Cougars in their
league opener. Preston McGriff
added 20 and Butch Fullwood had
19.
South jumped out to a 25-13 lead
in the f'-iM quaiicr anu maintained its
12-point lead through the rest of the
first half.
East Bladen cut the lead to seven
points alter three quarters and
outscored the Cougars 22-15 in the
final period to tic the game at 71-71
at the end of regulation.
In overtime, Kevin Smith and
White made crucial free throws for
South Brunswick. The Cougars shot
the ball well, making nine three
pointers in the game and converting
