Basketball League.
It was the first loss of the season
for Camp Methodist and first win
for Jennies Branch.
Also last Friday, Shallottc First
Baptist lopped Lctties Grove 82-57
and New Britton beat Supply Baptist
60-48.
Shallottc First Baptist edged
Ocean View Baptist 46-45 last
Tuesday to pull into second place.

Two Waccamaw School students
will advancc lo state competition in
the national Elks Hoop Shoot
Contest after winning regional titles

sent Brunswick County, and will he
among six regional winners who
compete at Rcidsville Feb. 22 in the
statewide free-throw contest.
The local Hoop Sh(x>t program is
sponsored by Calahash Elks Lodge
No. 2679 in cooperation with the
Brunswick County Parks and Recre
ation Department.
Six finalists from the local contcst
held Jan. 11, all of whom ended up
being students of Waccamaw Ele
mentary School, competed against
hoopstcrs from such towns as
Raleigh, Wilmington and Golds
boro.
Each participant attending the
contest was given five warm-up has
kcls, and two rounds of free-throw
attempts, first 10 shots each, then
15.
