It was the second loss of the week and third straight defeat for North Brunswick, which came up two |\>ints short against South Robeson last Tuesday. South Robeson The Scorps lost a heartbreakcr last Tuesday in Leland as South Robeson's Keith Hunt scored with two seconds left to give the Must angs a 5 1 -49 victory. North Brunswick had fought back from an eight-point deficit in the last two minutes to tie the score at 49 49. Trailing 49-41, North's Waddcll convened a ihree-poini play with 1:4ft remaining and then nailed a three-point shot with 52 seconds left to trim the South Robeson lead to 49-47. Waddcll then ued the game with a sical and lay-up with 14 seconds re maining before Hunt grabbed an ot fcnsivc rebound and hit the game winner for South Robeson. The Scorpions and Mustangs were tied 11-11 after one quarter, and North Brunswick had a slim 23 22 lead at halftime. South Robeson used 8-0 run midway through the third quarter to lak, a 37-32 lead going into the final period. Bladen Anthony McKoy scored 17 points as East Bladen routed the West Brunswick boys' basketball team 73-46 last Tuesday in Eli/abeth town. The Trojans also lost to South Brunswick 74-57 Friday in Shal lottc. (Sec related story this issue.) At East Bladen, the Cougars took a 17-11 lead in the opening quarter and built a 34-21 advantage at halftime. East Bladen continued to domi nate in the second half, outscoring the Trojans 39-25. Charles Young and Andre Gray each scored 10 points for the Cougars. Lonnic Mitchell led the West Brunswick attack with 11 points, and Adam Johnson added seven. The Trojans (2-5, 3-12) had Tues day night off and return to action Friday night with a home game against Whitevillc.
