Chris Johnson scored 37 points to
lead the Young Guns to an 87-68
rout of the Rockets in the Brunswick
County Parks and Recreation Men's
Basketball League last week.
With the win, the Young Guns
improved to 9-1 on the season and
kept their hold on first placc in the
league.
Joe Clemmons scored 23 points in
a losing cause for the Rockets, who
fell to 3-6 on the year.

nesday, Trampus Gausc scored 38
points as the second-place Turntables
bombed the Sonics 98-77. Steven
Cart led the Sonics with 24 points.

Being Improved
North Brunswick fans will watch
their football team from a new per
spective next season.
Scorpion fans will be cheering
from the opposite side of the foot
ball field on a new set of blcachcrs
when the 1992 campaign begins in
September.
"It's going to be a nice press box
and blcachcrs." Principal Robert
Harris said. "It will be a big step up,
and it will really improve the loolcs
of the place."
The metal blcachcrs will scat
about 9(X) people, Harris said, and
will be set in concrctc on what has
previously served as the visitors'
side of the field. The projcct will
cost around S80,0(X).
The Dant Corp. of Louisville,
Ky? rcccntly started pouring the
concrctc. Harris cxpccts the project
to be finished by late April, in plenty
of time for the next football season.
The existing press box, ticket of
fice and concession stand will be left
in place. Harris said more bleachers
may lie added to the visitors' side.
"We're looking forward to it,"
Harris said. "We hope that it's going
to be nice, and 1 know it will be be
cause I've seen the plans for it."
North Brunswick is the third
county high school to see stadium
improvements. West Brunswick's
was upgraded last year, and South 's
Cougar Stadium was improved in
1990.
