The bride is ihe daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Malcolm J. Grissetl of
Shalloltc and the granddaughter of
Alberta Tatum of Shalloltc.
The grwm is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Max B. Grimes of Wilmington
and the grandson of Floy Turner of
Faycttevillc.
The bride was given in marriage
by her parents and escorted by her
father. She wore a formal gown of
her own creation and carried her
mother's wedding Bible, accented
w ith an arrangement of flowers.
Matron of honor was Kathy
Grimes of Wilmington, sister-in-law
of the groom and friend of the bride.
Janice Andrews of Shailotte, aunt of
the bride, was maid of honor.
Also attending the bride were
Debbie Franklin of Wilmington and
Julie Willetts, Jackie Millikcn and
Whitney Corbett, all of Shailotte.
They wore long, tailored evening
suits of bright periwinkle.
Junior bridesmaid was Janna
Franklin of Wilmington and flower
girl was Kelly Willetts of Shalloue.
The groom's father served as best
man.

A rehearsal dinner the evening
before the wedding was given by the
groom's parents at Tavern on the
Tee, Sea Trail Plantation.
A bridal luncheon was given in
honor of the bride by her mother the
day of the ceremony.
Showers were held in the weeks
preceding the wedding by Alberta
Tatum, Kathy Grimes, Julie Wil
letts, Terrie Hcwctt and the women
of Old Shallotte Baptist Church.
Coworkers entertained the bride
with a dinner at Bermuda Boat Club,
Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The bride was employed with
Security Savings and Loan Associ
ation, Shallotte, before relocating.
The groom is currenUy a loan officer
with NationsBank in Greensboro.
Following a honeymoon trip to
the Poconos, Pcnn., the newlyweds
will reside in Greensboro.

Amanda Lynn Bryant and Willi
am (Billy) Thomas Hickman were
married Feb. 15 ai Peace Memorial
Baptist Church in Winnabow.
The Rev. Jerry Darnell officiated
at the afternoon ceremony in which
the bride was given in marriage by
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C.
Bryant of Teachey.
The groom is the son of Julia
Knox and the stepson of Arthur
Knox of Bolivia.
Escorted by her father, the bride
wore a formal gown of ivory bridal
satin. It featured a portrait neckline
pleated with hand-beaded Alcncon
lace and a princess bodice.
She wore a hoop under the full
skirt with lace-trimmed cathedral
train and embroidered appliques.
Her gown was accented by long, fit
ted lace sleeves with beaded Alcn
con lace and pearl buttons.
A coronet with twisted pearls and
white ribbon roses made up her
headpiece, which featured a poufed
fingertip-length veil.
Matron of honor was Lori Marsh
bum Bryant of Leiand, sister-in-law
of the bride. She wore an aqua satin
and lace tea-length dress with full
puffed sleeves, full skirt and long,
fitted, aqua lace sleeves.
Bridesmaids were Amy Johnson
of Garner, cousin of the bride;
Rhonda Johnson of Teachey, cousin
of the bride; and Jill Wood of Rose
Hill.
Their dresses were mauve salin
with lace overlay, lace sleeves and
straight skirt.
Junior bridesmaid was Brandi
Hickman, daughter of the groom.
Each attendant carricd a brass
candle holder with glass shade and
lit candle decorated with aqua,
mauve and off-white silk flowers
and matching satin ribbon streamers.
Kandicc Hickman, daughter of
the groom, and Kayla Bryant, niece
of the bride, served as flower girls.
The groom wore a black suit with
a white shirt and black tie.
His stepfather served as best man.
Groomsmen were DarTcll Bryant
of Leland and Neal Bryant of Rose
Hill, brothers of the bride, and
Tommy Sullivan of Leland.
Brandon Hickman, son of the
groom, was ring bearer.
Prior to the service, sacred and
classical music was performed by
June Beasley of Winnabow. Voc
alist Margaret (Lulu) Sullivan of Le
land sang The Wedding Song (There
Is Love). Also, Rory and Susan
Thigpen performed Only God Could
Love You More.
A reception was held after the
ceremony in the fellowship hall of
the church. After the couple depart
ed, guests attended a pig-picking at
the home of the groom's mother and
step-father.
After their honeymoon, the cou
ple will reside in Bolivia.
