day, March 7, in a 2 p.m. ceremony
at the Church ol Jesus Christ ol
Latter-day Saints in Shallottc.
Elder Thurman W. Skipper offici
ated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Danny M. Gore of Shal
lottc and the granddaughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Carson H. Hawei; of Nak
ina and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E.
Gore of Shallottc.
Music was provided by Larry and
Dcbby Hcustess of Shallottc. Lois
Williamson of Ocean Isle Beach di
rected. Patty Johnson, cousin of the
groom, attended the register.
Escorted by her father, the bride
wore a white matte taffeta gown
w ith lace bodice and re-embroidered
medallions. The two-tiered Elizabe
than sleeves, worn slightly off the
shoulder, were long with cut-out ap
pliques.
Her ballgown skirt, hemmed in
lace, featured a semi-cathedral train.
Her fingertip, caplet veil of illusion
was accented with a spray of silk
roses and pearls.
She carried a cascade of peach
roses, off-white cabbage roses, free
sia, variegated greenery and stream
ers.
Rita Holmes of Supply served as
her maid of honor. Bridesmaids
were Cindy Skipper. Ashley Reaves
and Angie Robinson, all of Supply.
They wore gowns of iridescent
taffcia featuring a sweetheart neck
line, fitted bodice, tulip sleeves and
keyhole back with bow. The full
skirt was enhanced with a graduated
hemline. They carried peach and
off-white roses with greenery and
streamers.
Susan Evans of Whiteville, cousin
of the bride, served as flower girl.
Ryan Gore of Shallotte, brother of
the bride, was ring bearer.
Larry DeStefano of Supply served
as the groom's best man. Ushers
were Scott Gore of Shallotte, brother
of the bride; and Phillip Robinson
and John Robinson, brothers of die
groom.
Special wedding guests included
the groom's great- grandmother. A
manda Gore of Supply.
Following the ceremony, a recep
tion was given at the church by a
great-aunt of the bride, Alice John
son of Kinston. Dorothy Gore, Freda
Fipps, Dorothy Suggs, Bobbi Hod
ges and Deannc King assisted.
The groom's parents hosted the
March 6 rehearsal dinner at Lock
wood Folly Community Building.
Following a wedding trip to Dis

Mark Vetrano were married Satur
day, Feb. 29, at Ocean View Baptist
Church, Ocean Isle Beach
The Rev. Macon Wixxl officiated
the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Gray Duncan of
Route 4, Whiteville, and the late
Maxinc Duncan.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Vetrano of Route 1 . Tabor
City.
White gladioli, hot pink carna
tions. babies' breath and green plants
decorated the sanctuary.
Music was provided by Jim Smith,
Jenny Smith. Donna Smith and Brian
Vetrano, all of Tabor City.
The bride was given in marriage
by her father. She wore a traditional
white gown of bridal satin with hand
beaded collar, leg-o-mutton sleeves
and a basque waist adorned with lace
and studded with pearls. It featured a
scalloped chapel train with lace
cutouts, bows and rosettes. Her veil
was a wreath of rosebuds and floral
sprays with a pouf at the back, blush
er and fingertip veil.
She carried an arrangement of
lilies, white roses, hot pink sweet
heart roses and babies' breath.
Dawn D Johnson of Whiteville
was her maid of harajr. Bridesmaids
were Donna Duncan of Durham, and
Nancy Benton of Whiteville, sisters
of the bride: and Michelle Irwin of
Tabor City; and Monica Gore of Ash.
Attendants wore tea-length gowns
of fuschia satin styled with a scal
loped neckline, scalloped V-back, fit
ted waist and a pcplum with bow.
They carried arm bouquets of white
roses, lilies and hot pink ribbon
streamers, and wore headpieces fash
ioned from white rosettes and pearls
and accented with hot pink ribbons.
Stephanie Benton of Whitcvillc,
niece of the bride, was flower girl.
Her white tea-length dress featured a
white lace overlay and pearl trim and
she wore a white hat trimmed with
ribbon.
Scott Benton of Whiteville, nep
hew of the bride, was ring bearer.
The groom's best man was his la
ther. Ushers were Sammy Vetrano
and Brian Vetrano. brothers of the
groom; Robbie Irwin, cousin of the
groom; and Knight Gore. All arc
from l abor City.
A reception in the church fellow
ship hall was given by Sandra
Benton, Sherry Benton, Tammy
Jones and Maria Potter, with Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Tumagc of Ocean Isle
Beach greeting guests. Cindy
Fontenot attended the guest register.
Servers were Dawn Wood, Brcnda
Wood and Elisa Wood of Ocean Isle
Beach.

Whitcvillc. She is employed by Mast
Drug Co.
The groom is a graduate of Tabor
City High School and Southeastern
Community College. He is employed

Garden Club Installs Officers
Dorothy Cambria was installed as
president of the Sea Trail Plantation
Garden Club at the monthly meeting
March 10 at the Joncs/Byrd Club
house.
She replaces club founder Althca
Grace as president. Other officers
installed last week were Vicc Presi
dent Lee Zinser, Secretary Marie
Blanda and Treasurer Dorothy De
Fcric.
The meeting was followed by a
luncheon and style show at the club
house with more than 100 people in
attendance, said spokesperson Mar
ge Gallop.
Social hour featured the music of
harpist Becky Nissen. Helen Wig
gins of For Plants provided the
spring garden design throughout the
dining room.
Models showed off the latest
spring fashioncs Island Breeze,
owned by Clarice Holden.

Auxiliary will hold a bake sale
Saturday, March 21, starting at 9
a.m. beside the Barn Restaurant on
the Holden Beach causeway.
The auxiliary heard a report on
the importance of mammograms at
its March 9 meeting. The next meet
ing will be April 14 at I p.m. at the
post on Sabbath Home Road.
BBQ On The Menu
Cape Fear Chapter No. 78 of the
Disabled American Veterans will
serve pork barbecue Saturday,
March 21, from 1 1 a.m. to 2 p.m. at
the headquarters on Rhett Street in
Soulhport, said Commander A.W.
