Miss Burton plans to major in Lnglish, with teaching and journal ism as her career objectives. She was one of 45 students to re ceive competitive scholarship awards to UNCG based on superior achievement and potential, qualities of leadership, evidence of interest in others and motivation toward useful purposes in life. The Reynolds Scholarship award ed to Burton is worth S3.500 per year and is renewable for three years of undergraduate study beyond the freshman year, based on academic achievement. The scholarship is funded by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation of Winston-Salem. At North Brunswick, Miss Burton serves as editor of the school news paper, a peer counselor ana member of the Students Against Drunk Driving chapter. She attended the N.C. School of Mathematics and Sciencc during her junior year and attended North Carolina Governor's School in English. She has been a Quiz Bowl mem ber and is in the academically gifted program. This summer she plans to serve as a volunteer for the Cape Fear Literacy Council. BCCA Elects Officers Brunswick County Citizens Asso ciation (BCC) leaders for the current year took office this month. Soles March 21 at the District 89 Legislative Breakfast. The breakfast was held on the campus of The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and was an opportunity for state employees and legislators to discuss mutual con cerns.
