Sunset Teen-Ager Has Two -Year Suspended Sentence Activated A Sunsci Bcach teen-ager charged in a 1990 fatal wreck was hack in Brunswick County District Court last week. Matthew Shawn Arneuc, 18. had a two-year suspended sentence acti vated following a mouon hearing in court last Thursday, March 2h. The sentence stems from a Nov. 3. 1 9*>C). driving while license re voked charge filed by Stale Trooper B.D. Rarnhardt, according to docu ments on tile at the Brunswick County Clerk of Court's office. District Court Judge Jerry A. Jolly ordered that Arnette's two-year suspended sentence from that case bo activated and also ordered that he receive counseling for substance and mental disorders through the N.C. Department of Corrections' DART program, a drug and alcohol rehabil itation treatment program. Arncttc pleaded guilty to death by vehicle on Aug. 27, 1990, stemming from an accident that claimed the life of a Supply man. Clyde Justice Olive, 37, died from injuries after the car Amctte was dri ving ran a stop sign and struck Olive's car on Sabbath Home Road near Holdcn Bcach on March 18, 1090. From that charge, Amctte was given a two-year suspended sen tence and placed on two years' su pervised probation by Judge Jolly. Judge Jolly also heard the follow ing eases during the period March 24-26: Charles E. Anderson, failure to reduce speed, voluntarily dismissed. Kenneth W. Arthur, speeding 68 in a 55 zone, prayer for judgment continued and costs. Michael Dean Barnes, speeding 74 in a 55 zone, prayer for judgment continued and costs.
