For gardeners, botanical gardens offer a living reference library of plant materials and new gardening ideas. I tend to become fixated on ccrtain ornamental plant types and ways of doing things. A visit to a botanical garden helps to renew and invigorate my gardening spirits. The diversity of plant material is always humbling. Raulston, Ph.D., has done an excel lent job of collecting an enormous variety of plant materials.
