Calvary leads the north division with a 2-0 mark, while Friendship leads the south with an identical re cord. Friendship opened the season with a 21-4 win over Camp Methodist and posted an 8-2 win over Emanual Outreach last Friday. Calvary Baptist routed Seaside Methodist 35-3 in its opening game and beat Zion Baptist 22-17 on Friday. Three teams ? Jennies Branch. Ocean View and New Bntton ? are tied for second place in the south di vision with records of 1-0. Jennies Branch beat Lctties Grove 33-4 in its only game. Ocean View was a 17-12 winner over Mount Olive, while New Britton edged Shallottc First Baptist 11-10 in its season opener. In other games. Supply Baptist beat Soldier Bay 16-9 in their open er but lost to Mount Olive 1 7-7 on Monday. Lctlics Grove beat Seaside Meth odist 23-22 Monday after losing to Camp Methodist 16-13 last Friday. The church softball league started March 30 at Waccamaw District Park and play continues through mid-July. Each team will play the six other teams in its division twice and each team outside the division once dur ing the regular season. The Trojans fell to non-confer ence opponent St. Pauls 7-1 Mon day, but defeated West Columbus and South Robeson in Waccamaw 2-A Contcrcncc action last week. West Brunswick shut out the vis iting South Robeson Mustangs 9-0 last Thursday in a match that was rained out March 30. The Trojans (2-1, 2-2) picked up their first win of the young season last Wednesday, beating host West Columbus 6-2. Benji Mankin, the Trojans' only winner against St. Pauls Monday, remains undefeated for the season. "St. Pauls is the best team we'll play all year. They are very well bal anced," West Brunswick Coach Marti Gillis said. "The team contin ues to improve as we gain match ex perience."
