Thomas L. Rich Jr. offi ciated the 2 p.m. ceremony, and the Rev. CJ. Bordeaux Sr. gave the in vocation. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. Barnes Sr. of Lumbcrton and the Holden Beach area. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip W. Russ of Shallotlc and the grandson of Leon Hewitt and Mr. and Mrs. Anson Ludlum, all of Shallottc. Escorted by her brother, A. Richard Barnes Jr., the bride wore a long gown of pearl white embossed satin. It had a bateau neckline, bas que waist and long, filled sleeves. The bodicc and sleeves were trimmed with Vcnisc lace decorated with handsewn sequins and seed pearls. The full skirt ended in a chapel-length train. She wore a rosctlc of pearl white ribbon in her hair and carried a cas cade of pink rosebuds and white gar denias, accented with miniature Queen Anne's lace. Julie Lynn Bamcs served as her sister's maid of honor. She wore a ica-lengih gown of rosebud satin that featured a rosebud lace overlay of the bodicc and sleeves, a bateau neckline, basque waist, short puffed Ambassadors Met On BCC Campus Nrarlv 1 00 students and their ad visers from across North Carolina met April 11 at Brunswick Com munity College to Icam ways to bel ter use student ambassadors. BCC's ambassadors and their ad viser served as host for the North Carolina Student Ambassadors As sociation, with representation from both community colleges and four year colleges and universities. Workshops covered topics such as selection of ambassaords, leader ship development and influencing group behavior. Typically ambassadors arc a se lect group of students nominated by faculty members to represent a col lege. They host campus activities and projects such as tours for prospective students and fundrais ing. BCC Ambassadors for the 1991 92 school year arc these students: Melissa Horan, Leland; Kenneth Perrone, Seaside; Phyllis McCoy, Boiling Spring Lakes; Clair Weber, Long Beach; and Barbara Prince, South port. Ambassadors for 1992-93 will be chosen this spring. BCC Ambas sadors each rcceivc a S500 scholar ship from the BCC Foundation. sleeves and a full intermezzo skirt with a satin bow at the back waist. She carried a cascade of white daisies and miniature pink carna tions accented with purple staticc. Bridesmaids were Peggy Butler of Bladenboro, Toni Lavoic of Lumbcrton and Leslie Robbins of Raleigh, who were dressed like the honor attendant. Honorary bridesmaids were Susan Kinlaw, Lynda Fowler and Rita Floyd of Lumbcrton and June Tyrec of Shallottc. They wore street-length dresses of matching floral pastels and carricd a single long-stemmed pink rose. The groom's father was his best man. Ushers were Doug Tyrec, Dave Andrews and Brent Robinson of Shallottc. Honorary ushers were Alan Tyrec of Burgaw, Jeremy King of Ash and Chris Russ of Shallottc. The groom and his men wore identical silver gray tuxedos with cummerbund and bowtie. Patricia Jackson greeted guests and Amy McDaniel and Beth Thompson gave out programs. The bride's parents hosted the re ception in the fellowship hall of the church. Prior to the wedding the groom's parents entertained with a rehearsal dinner in the Woodman of the World Lodge in Lumbcrton. Following a wedding trip to Ten nessee, the couple will live in Set November Date Shannon Kelley Palmer of North Myrtle Beach. S.C., and Keith Warren King of Ash have announced their engagement.
