Shellfish Relayed In Shallotte River Three sections of Shallotte River were closed to shclifishing this week to allow the relay of oysters from polluted to clean waters. The waters near Carter's Fish and Oyster House and Milliken's Oyster House were closed Monday to allow the relay. Fishermen arc paid SI per bushel to move the oysters, which will cleanse themselves and be ready for harvest in the fall. The N.C. SHALLOTTE ? 7S4-S000 South Brunswick High Students Uninjured !n Three-Car Pileup Eight South Brunswick High School students were treated for scrapes and bruises last Wednesday following a three -car pileup in front of the school, said Boiling Springs Lake Police Chief J R. Vaughan. Boiling Spiring Lakes Volunteer Rescue Squad transported the stu dents to Doshcr Memorial Hospital in Southport. At 1 p.m., said Vaughan, when studcnLs were given early release to accommodate an afternoon teachers' meeting, cars were lined up leaving the school when a 1987 Plymouth driven by Ambcry Nicole Miller, 16, of Lcland, hit the car in front of her, a 1985 Dodge, driven by 1 7 -year old Monica Gayle Williams of Bolivia. Williams, in turn, rear-ended a 1983 Chevrolet truck driven by Molly Conover Franck, 18, of South port. There were no injuries reported by Franck and her 1 5-year-old sister, Frances, who was a passenger. Damages to her truck amounted to S100. Williams' car sustained an esti mated S 1 ,000 in damages. Her pas senger. 17-year-old Cajila Smith, complained of neck injuries. Miller's vehicle had estimated damages of SI, 500. She and three passengers, Jennifer Yarbough, 15, of Boiling Springs Lake; Sabrina Neal, 15, of Winnabow; and Dana Bacpa, 15, of Leland. had minor in juries.
